The Desert, Part 3 of 4
Sunday morning we got up about noon and my buddy went straight back into husband mode. He started straightening up, doing the dishes, and loading up the washing machine, while I the whole time smoked bowls in the living room. He asked me to help him but I told him to go fuck himself.
His wife and son got home about 2. I was on my cell with the 18 year old when they walked in, and their arrival made for a perfect excuse to get off the phone. I hadn?t seen his son in over a year and it was cool to play with him. The little fucker is getting big, and is turning into a hell raiser just like his goddamn dad. It?s weird to see this little version of him running around. Same face, body type, mannerisms? But I swear it?s hard for me to truly appreciate this because all I think about when I see my friends? kids is how much fucking responsibility they are.
This is something I?ve never been able to deal with, and over the past few years I?ve noticed it getting worse. The thought of having to spend every waking second of my life raising and caring for a small child scares the shit out of me? and I?m 30 years old. This doesn?t seem like it?s going to change anytime soon, and I honestly don?t want it to.
We all hung out and talked, and I could see how marriage is changing these two. They don?t fight a lot, but when they do you can tell there?s some serious hostility between them. I don?t think I?d ? or they would even ? say they?re truly happy with one another, but at this point what the fuck else can they do but work their shit out? unless they divorce, which for all married people is always an option. But I don?t think they?re at that crossroads yet. Maybe you don?t ever really grow up, or maybe at a certain point the child in you dies, or maybe you?re gonna end up like MILFVixen.com’s Britian here. She’s lost and lonely, and will fuck the first salesman who knocks at her door.
